Long Island Community Hospital’s Hospice program offers a bereavement support group for parents and grandparents who have lost a child. The 8-week support group is open to all in the community, free of charge and is facilitated by a licensed Certified Social Worker.

Breast Cancer and the New Normal Open Support Group
Join our open group once a month on Fridays from 2:00-3:30pm
Discuss issues relevant to your diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.

Diabetes Self-Management Class
These four two hour weekly classes educate those diagnosed with diabetes on ways to help manage their disease. Topics include the following: Diabetes Overview, Nutrition, Activity, Blood Glucose Monitoring, Medications, Reducing Complications, Healthy Coping and Sick Days, and other miscellaneous topics. Each participant will have an individual pre-assessment consult as well as a group post alumni class with a Certified Diabetes Educators. Preregistration with a doctor’s referral may be required. Diabetes Support Group

Epilepsy and Seizure Support Group
For individuals with epilepsy and their families, this group is presented by South Shore Neurologic Associates, PC, LI Community Hospital and the Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island. Topics include: safety with seizures, memory effects, relationships, stress, impact on job due to seizures, mood, emotional issues with seizures and other topics of interest to the group. Renal Disease
Renal Care Givers Support Group
Education and support for family members and caregivers of individuals on dialysis provided by a licensed clinical social worker.
