Hi guys, Mary back; let’s talk about sugar. The World Health Organization and the American Heart Association recommend that women have no more than 6 teaspoons of added sugar/day, 9-tsp of added sugar for men. The average American is consuming an average of 17-tsp of added sugar/day! How are we doing this? Let me give you some visuals. A 1 oz brownie has 16 grams of added sugar, ½ cup ice-cream, 19-grams of added sugar, ½ cup juice; most of us consume more than this, 14 grams of added sugar. 1 can of Coke; I am holding 2 vials here, 39 grams of sugar!
Why is sugar so detrimental to our health?
Cancer, diabetes, obesity, depression, skin aging, dental issues… Watch your sugar intake, read your labels and I will talk to you soon!
