Generous supporters from across Long Island gathered together to honor Nabil Kiridly, MD, recipient of the Dr. Jacob Dranitzke Award. The event, which benefited the programs and services at Long Island Community Hospital, drew over 450 guests at East Wind in Wading River, NY, and was also the first major event held under the hospital’s new name.
Nabil Kiridly, MD is the founder of Precision Medical Arts, a plastic and reconstructive surgery practice on Long Island. Prior to founding the practice in 1992, Dr. Kiridly joined a two-year fellowship in the Burn Unit at the University Hospital of New York at Stony Brook and completed the Plastic and Reconstructive Residency Program at the University of Missouri at Kansas City, Truman Medical Center.
As the Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery in two prominent medical centers in Suffolk County, NY, Dr. Kiridly has and continues to perform countless surgeries; has been the recipient of many awards; acquired many positions; authored numerous publications; and participated in several research activities throughout his career. He also continues to teach and mentor students and residents. President and CEO Richard T. Margulis also announced the inaugural John White Community Leadership Award. The award celebrates those who make a difference and promote excellence in healthcare. As a hospital founder, John White was instrumental in the development of Long Island Community Hospital. The John White Community Leadership Award allows his legacy and commitment to live on as we honor him by presenting this award to outstanding members of Long Island Community Hospital.
The Gala committee was co-chaired by Lisa and William Kruger, MD and Toni and John Sullivan. Through the generous support of the community, over $618,000 was raised in support of programs and services, including the breast cancer survivorship coalition, cardiac wellness, and diabetes education,, at Long Island Community Hospital.
